Rear diff I guess is normal....

Just got my truck back yesturday from the dealer. Took it in 2nd time for rear end whine. First time they rebuilt, now they pulled the cover, did a pattern ck and they said it was fine. I was NOT allowed in the shop area for liability reasons to inspect myself before they put the cover back on. They did put in the D/C required 75-90 and got rid of the 140 the tech put in at rebuild. SO far so good. Atleast it's documented if it clunks out. .

Rbatelle, I hope so!! THe noise is really not that bad. I haven't driven it to it's " Whine Range" yet... . I don't want to know. . LOLOL I have gone on a test drive w/ other TDR members who say the noise would not be bad enough to cause concern for them. THe Leaky Pinion seal the dealer said was just grease residue ( Eventhough I degreased it 2 weeks prior). . it really is not that bad either... I'm sure all is well, I'm done worrying about it.

Glad to hear it is working out ok.

I was under mine yesterday and checked for any leaks,dry as a bone,it sure is a good feeling to be able to look under a Dodge and see the engine clean with no oil from the blow by bottle,my 2000 was oily the first week.

I hear ya... . I look under mine for spots. . no spots no worry. But I did look recently and your right, after 5,000 miles it looks crisp and new!

id find a real dealer. thats a crock. i always go in and talk to the tech, most of the time i go in through the side door in the bay.

what good is it if you use the service writer as a middle man?

(u know how stories change).

ive only had repair work done a two diff. dealers in the past

5-6yrs but ive stopped at dealers out of town and asked to go and talk to tech and they said go ahead.
