Rear differential additive

Does a 2010 RAM 3500 require a rear differential additive? I am looking at upgrading to a larger MAG-HYTEC cover and they recommend the additive, however I am getting conflicting information. Thanks in advance!

I just drained my rear diff. and went back with Royal Purple. No additive and no problems. I have a '10 Ram 2500 4x4.

The older (Dana) Limited Slip Differentials required a "friction modifier" additive for the clutch packs to work. Maybe there is something else in the additive that the MAG-HYTEC manufacturer likes for the non LSDs
If you have a limited slip, I would look at the factory manual yourself, not just call the dealership, and find out.
