The rear differential limited slip DANA 60 of my 1996 2500 4 x 4 has been growling for the past several months. The noise is on turns only, not while driving straight. 148,400 I finally got to the dealer and asked him if is it the transmission or rear end. He said to replace the oil and add the MOPAR special lub for the limited slip DANA 60 that I have. Did it over the weekend and the noise is completely gone. :)

Wow, useful advice from a dealer! Cool! Thanks for sharing. I've changed the fluids including the special l/s additives in both front and rear. Cheap insurance... :)

FWIW: You don't need to run the L/S additive in the front diff...

On edit: Dad rebuilt both the of the Dana-70's in the family recently... only cost about $150 in parts. New clutches, bearings, shims, etc. I had some nasty looking bearings and really nasty looking clutches in my Dana-70.
