Rear Differential

2005 4 X 4.. I have the Mag Hytec Diff cover. When checking the oil level with the dipstick are you suppose to screw the dipstick in or just set it in without screwing it in. Also what fluid do you use?? It is a limited slip. Am I suppose to use the additive in it?

I use Amsoil 75w-90 SVG Severe Gear fluid. Per AAM 75w-90 is the reccommended fill for all loads unless you are above GCWR in Death Valley often. IIRC the OEM fill is synthetic.

No additive is used/needed due to the design of the LSD.

Thread the dipsick in by hand but do not go past hand tight when checking the level.
