Has anyone had their door's on the quad cab get sticky or not open at all. Mine started sticking slightly, but now I have to pull with two hand's HARD to get the driver side open. I've sprayed pb blast into the latch and still seem's to jam stuck. Any suggestion's on freeing this up, or is there an adjustment maybe that's off! What's with door's on these truck's, between rust and getting stuck, I might take them off like a jeep!

Has anybody had this problem, now the reardriver side won't even open at all! Now what... ... ..... anyone?#@$%!

The door isn't sticking. There is a loose bolt inside the door on the door latch. You will have to remove the inner door and tighten it up.

did you try both door handles? I had a problem that the cable came loose on the forward most handle(the one you use when you are not in the mini seat), the other one still worked fine to get the door open. . I just took the screws out of the handle and it was evident the cable was not where it was supposed to be, was able to put it back into its retaining setup and tighten it up, was working last time I checked 3 years later.

I had to take the rear door panel off and reposition the long rod that goes down to the latch. It apparantly streched so I repositioned it where it hooks to the handle. There's slots in the rod and I put it in a lower slot and it fixed my door problems.

the cable

I had a sterio put in recently and the door didn't open afterwards. The installation tech said that this year of Dodge trucks had an issue with the cable mounting plastic part that was part of the cable assbly. It breaks all of the time, apparently.

Ordered one today so it should fix the issue. Also, I found that pressing in on the door then opening the latch helped.

Let me know what you find out. My driver's side rear door is doing the same exact thing. I can push in on it while pulling the latch and it opens fine. Other than that it don't want to open.

Thank's for the info. ! It won't open inside, out, or pushing, so I'll take it apart this weekend and check the cable. Thank's!

After finally getting the inside door panel off and taking the handle out I pryed and pulled and kicked to get the door open. I removed the three bolt's holding the lower latch and found it completely seized up. I could move the latch with a screw driver and hammer. It's garbage, and I ordered a new one for $77 buck's:eek:. Unbelivable. I thought it would be about $40. So that's my update. Good luck if your door is stuck.

My RR door is doing the exact same thing. i took it apart tonight and found the bottom latch not unlocking. I've tried removing the nuts and prying around with a screwdriver but no luck. Can you tell me more on how you got yours unlatched? Thanks

I had the problem described above and could open door from inside that was a pulse. Readjusted rods fixed mine but in process broke a plastic part that holds the cable to the inside panel when reassembling now it does work again. I tried several things to reattach cable to door panel not luck. So you can only open door from inside again. I may have to buy a new or find a used door panel to fix but for right now have lots of other things to do first.

Mine was stuck because the bottom latch was rusted. I pushed on it and kicked it for a while as I held the handle open. I got it open by using a flat screwdriver and prying on it to manually rotate the hindge. I messed with it for an hour. I sprayed alot of PB blaster on it and just tryed different angles that I could get at the latch. Once I got the door open, I removed the inside door plastic and pulled the clear plastic off so I could get to the latch bolt's. There's 3 of them and I believe they were 10mm. My cables were all fine. When you remove the door plastic, you have to remove the cable(like a brake cable on a bike). The panel is held on by like 11 yellow plastic push pin's. Two are metal retainer clip's. I hope this help's, and if you have any more question's let me know. It's not bad, just take's time and alot of prying. Good luck!

One more thing, as stated, I broke the passenger side cable plastic also when I was working on my rust issue's. I tried super glueing mine back together, but I don't know if it held. Be carefull with that part.

Hey Beach, I've got my panel off and have got to the latch but still can not get it to open. Were you prying between the door and body
at the bottom of the door? What I've came up with so far is the bottom latch is rusted and I've tried by hand to pull up on the latch where the cable/ rod goes but it will not move, and have tried shoving a screwdriver into the latch to work it but no go.
Thanks

Yes, I pryed on the latch carefully so I didn't scratch the door. . Is the top of the door releasing? Make sure you soak it with something(PB Blaster). It took me a while to get mine. Maybe have someone hold the handle open while you pull down low on the door so you dont twist it to bad. Pull really hard back and forth and pry a little. It should release in time. Hopefully. Pry the inside latch part that hook's around the shaft part on the door sill. Look at the door that work's so you can see how it should work. Good luck! If it pop's open, you should be able to remove the bad latch and still close the door if you have to drive it for a couple day's till you get a new one. The top latch held mine fine for a while.

Thanks, Yes the top latch does release, and I've been soaking it with PB blaster. Hopefully I'll get to work on it tonight.

Thanks for the help.

I had the exact problem- had to push in on drivers side rear door to unlatch it. I popped the door panel off and found the main bolt on the door latch had backed out and was just about to fall out. Easy fix! BTW, Jetson described it in post #3
