Friend of mine has a 4. 5 2500 CTD with a 3. 73 rear Limited Slip (anti-spin) and he's getting ready to change trannie fluid and diff fluids. Question is he's going to put in Amsoil but wanted to know if he should stick with the 75W90 or go with 75W140. I've heard some people say that the 75W140 would be better. Thought I would stop and ask some of the experts on hear first to get some valued opinions.

The heavier lube is recommended if you are towing.

I'm running the Redline Heavy Shockproof lube - the consistency of 90W but the protection of a 250W.

I've installed the Amsoil Gear lube in many trucks, and the 75W-90 is very adequite. I suggest you get the "Severe Gear" (SVG)

He already has 4 quarts of Amsoil 75W140 at his house that his son didn't use on his truck and just wanted to make sure it would be alright to use in his otherwise he'll get some 75W140
