Rear end noise

This is a new truck to me as opposed to my 02. The rear end whines in a no load condition at around 35 mph. Don't really notice it at highway speeds. No noise when in a loaded condition. Is this normal for the different rear ends? I also have a nice buzz in the steering wheel and pedals at medium to high speeds. Is this the vibration I've been reading about? Thanks
