Well just got back from Jacksonville. During the last trip from Canada the rear end started howling. After changing the fluid and pulling metal particals off the magnet. The center section was toast. To the sum of $1250. 00. The ring & pinion was ok. Guess I'll change the fluid every 20,000 mile in the future. Best regards, Mike

Hi Guys
The severe service recomendation for your rear diff is 12,500 miles. From the sounds of it you are using it under severe service conditions. I change mine at 18,000 miles and use 75W90 synthetic plus 2 bottles of Trac-loc additive form Dodge. You might want to consider using a 75W140 synthetic lubricant. Just make sure you use the trac-loc additive. There is a lot of different opinions regarding the proper fluid to use in your differential. I am just telling what I am doing with my 250.
I addition I have a Mag-hytec rear diff cover from Genos Garage. It makes changes easier and increases fluid capacity. It also has provisions for a temp guage.
Happy Trails
