I recently installed new ring and pinion in my 2001 and found that the stock set up was loose and bearings were siezed. I was told it would have blown in about 15000 miles. ( had 36000 on it).

After about 1000 on the new ring, pinion and bearings I am getting a vibration and growling sound when turning slow. I changed the oil again and added more posi additive and still no luck. Any ideas?:(

Noises

If you didn't do the new install yourself, I'd go back and see what the people who did the work had to say. Setting that issue aside for a moment, I'd start thinking about a miss aligned housing. The machining work on the housing itself could be causing loads which have nothing to do with oil changes. Bearing surfaces are machined to run/work in proper alignment with each other. When any one component is mis-aligned or too tight can bring about premature wear. Thus the sounds you are hearing. I would not wait very long in finding the answer to your situation for I believe these sort of situations do not fix themselves. Good luck. Dave
