Water Leaks in Cab

Got tagged pretty good by a Silverado, I was stopped, he wasn't looking. Maybe I can figure out how to post a pic. My trailer hitch is mashed in and down, took a good lick to bend that angled piece, I'm wondering if I'll have frame damage. What questions should I ask the adjuster, I guess it will be, who comes to look at it. I want to be dang sure it's ok to tow. Thanks, Steve

I agree with the above. Also, carefully examine the gaps between pickup bed and back of cab on each side as well as gaps around all doors. Open and close the doors slowly and carefully observing how the latches operate.

Was the GM product totalled?

Thanks for the tips, I was concerned about the frame, too. Wish I could figure out how to post the pic of the Silverado, but I'm dumb as road kill on that stuff. His truck is pretty ugly. The bolt or I should say threaded lower part of my ball hitch is bent almost 10 degrees forward. The formerly horizontal part of the piece of 3/4' steel it was bolted to is angled down about 10 degrees. It took something to bend that piece of steel. It's gonna be a cluster bleep to get the insurance straight on it all, front and rear, I can see that.

When I got rear ended, I took the insurance settlement and upgraded the bumper/hitch to a Reunel. (Photos in my gallery. ) One of the best changes I ever made. When all was said and done, I figured the guy did me a favor.

100 Proof

IF they fix it, insist on upgrading to a Class 5 hitch, such as a Reese Titan V, and get rid of that weak factory piece. I can't even give my factory reciever away! If you want, email me the pics and I'll do my best to get them up here for you, this site seems to be easy to post pics.

My 99 got hit from behind but it had a different frame than the 3 gen. The frame flexed and the bed hit the cab the recever hitch was replaced and the crossmember as well as the bumper since it was pretty flat and the edges went through the sheet metal.
