Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) rear main seal?

besides removing the transmission. how hard is it to pull the old and install the new? my trannys out and it looks like it weeps a little or is that just a diesel

once the trans is out, the hard part is done. I used a slide hammer to get mine out. Screwed a screw into it, and used that as a pulling point. Took a couple screws around the circle. When putting the new one in, I used a cheap seal driver kit I bought at Harbor Freight. Worked good. I've also used sockets that were the correct size to drive seals.

There is an expansion plug on the back of the cam bore that may be the leak source. It's also an easy change, but its behind the bell housing.
