Rear pads...

Folks,

On my factory 2004, the rear pads have decided to give out after 104,000 miles. Are they a pain to change? The front ones were relativly easy. Do the rear axles need to be pulled? Any special tools need to collapse the pistons on the rear calipers? Any feedback would be helpful

IIRC, you just remove the two caliper bolts and the caliper and pads comes free.



Should be no different than the front axle...

Mine were replaced at 65,000. The right rear was oil soaked from a bad seal.

I currently have almost 50% left at 152k... original pads.
