I've been experimenting with the length of the rod going to the rear brake proportioning valve to get a little better braking. I've lengthened the rod about 1/2" now but I don't feel any difference.
With the rod disconnected, the little arm on my proportioning valve can flip all the way around and does not appear to have any resistance at all. Is this normal, or is my valve bad? I have 190K on the truck and the original rear brake shoes still have almost 50% lining!
It's a '99 2500 4X4.
