Rear rotor retaining washers

'07 HD 2500:
Long time lurker, first time poster. I just put on a new rear set of EBC rotors/pads. I completed the job and was cleaning up, putting away my tolls and such. I failed to put the retaining washers back on the rotors.

Do I need to pull the wheels off and put those back on? Are they just excess weight ? I would hate to have an issue because of a some retaining washer.

What say you?

I always thought those were to keep the rotors in place when the vehicle was on the assembly line. I usually destroy them getting them off. bg
