2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission rear seat leg room comparison (1997 vs. 2006/7)

Anyone know the difference in rear seat leg room between a 1997 extended cab and a 2006/2007 Quad cab? I went to look at new trucks today. Took my daughter's safety seat out of my 97 and set it in the back of a Quad cab. There appeared to only be maybe one inch more space between the front edge of the car seat and the back of the center console. Right now her feet rest on the console of my '97 and I was trying to get some more room (and an 8 foot bed) I have lost the dimensions for my 1997 extended cab. I'm going back again this weekend with daughter in tow (and wife), maybe it was my imagination?
