Rear seat won't raise

I tried a search on this one, no luck, my rear seat- passenger side- won't raise. It sounds as tho it's hitting something solid, I've looked with a flashlight but so far can't locate the stoppage.

It had been doing it off and on, but if I went up and down a few times it would free itself, now it will only raise 3 or 4 inches and stop.

Open the rear door and look down at the outer edge of seat at the hinge area, you should see a bright piece of metal slanted downward toward the front of the truck about 3/4" to 1" long inside the mechanism, get a piece of coat hanger about 10" long and bend over at one end about 1/4" to form an ell, raise the seat a little and place the ell at the end of the shiny piece and lift it up, the seat should come up. bg

Asked this a long time back, fought the thing and fought it, very aggravating. I finally tried hosing the little metal rig/latch that was binding with good ole WD, and lo and behold, seats work perfectly now. Must have been too much dog hair, dirt, and humidity had the thing gunked up.
