Anti-sway hitch arrangements (long post)

Those of you that are using Square Stock steel, stuck into the sides of the factory hitch as a rear tiedown, do you have something holding this tube into the hitch?

When you slide this tube into the hitch it stops at the center. There is probably 1. 5' of tube burried in the hitch. It looks to me like if your camper has moved far enough that this piece could pull out of the hitch your already past the point that the rear hold downs are doing anything.

Not sure I want to drill a hole in the factory hitch for a clevis pin if I really don't need one.

rear camper mounts

My homemade set had a piece of angle iron welded to the top of the tube with a 1/4" hole drilled to match a 1/4" hole in the side of the factory hitch (the hole was used for the wiring holder) - Just put a 1/4" x 1. 5" long bolt/nut through it and never had a problem. The right side needed drilling.
