RV A/C repair on the road?

Master Brake

I have a 97 3500 and it rides to rough. In the latest isue of Diesel Power there is an article on page 135 about how they installed Salastic rear spring shackles on their project truck. Does anybody have any experance with this product? Its suposed to make it ride a lot better when empty. Looks like it costs 375. 00. Bob Aller

I couldn't find anything on "Salastic" or "Silastic", but its probably a similar product to the old BFG "Velvet-Rides".

Make sure you research them well... the BFGs wouldn't work on a truck with second spring pack. If you don't have the upper small spring packs, PM me; I have a set of BFG Velvet-Rides I purchased a while back (from another TDR Member) that I can't use.

Same principal as the Velvet-rides, looks like it has a larger bushing to flex, so it may have a little more avaliable travel... .

Yep, that's exactly what it looks like.

It looks like they are also trying to market it as a "extendable" shackle for those that off road to yield more suspension travel...

I have 1. 5 inches clearence at the overload rear spring shackle. So do i have enough clearnence for these kits to help an unloaded ride? Bob Aller
