I Just priced a new set of rear leaf springs for my 96 2500. It is looking like $350/per for the heavy duty 2500 but the standard 1 ton are only $207/per... Does anyone know what the different spring rates are on these?? I was under the impression that the 2500 HD springs were 1 ton springs to start out with.

I believe the price is for entire spring pack... the HD has a separate overload springpack on top of the regular springs.

Wiredawg, That would make sense. I should have thought of that before. Although the standard 2500 springs are still $90/per more than the standard 1 ton springs. For a $180 dollar difference, I'm still wondering what the difference in spring rates is.

The stock springs suck. I have cracked the second spring from the bottom on both sides. Your best bet would be to get some custom springs made with a bigger pack and a bend that will eliminate the lift blocks(if you have 4wd the blocks really make the springs wrap and then you get all that hop).
