Anyone had experiences with purchasing replacement rear leaf springs. Mine have lost their arch. With no load they are level, with the 5er hooked-up they appear to have a slight reverse arch. I priced them at the Mopar Man but am still reeling from "Sticker Shock". Can anyone recommend a reliable and reasonable source to purchase a replacement set and new "U" bolts. Thanks, John Krmpotic

It's very easy, look under springs in the yellow pages. There you will find several shops that can:

-re-arch your existing springs

-custom build you any spring configuration that you might want.

Usually the cost is somewhere around 300 - 500 to get your re-arched.

In Calgary, you could call Standen's springs or for Edmonton try McCoy bBrothers.

I'm in the process of dealing with the same problem. My specific interest is my camper is making my W350 squat something awful with that dreaded reverse arch. How can this much truck be affected like this with a mere 3000 lb. camper???? I intended to deal with this immediately when I bought this package a couple of months ago but life kind of got in the way and besides I was advised to go many different directions and kind of wanted to digest all of this. Anyway now that camping season is approaching in this neck of the woods I'm reinvigorated. I noticed in the J. C. Whitney catalog that they have what they claim to be exact replacements for
O. E. M. applications for about $109 per side. Now I'm not exactly a "Gucchi" kind of guy but I've aways kind of considered old J. C. as dime store stuff. Maybe I'm way off with that attitude but I did e-mail a real spring expert and am awaiting a response. I don't want to add helper springs or air bags without addressing a potential poor foundation first. On this re-arching process do they have some way of evaluating metal fatigue or other wear dynamics?
Will share what I hear when I do.

Well got a quote of $450 for some brand new made to order springs rated at 3250lb per side for the W350. Claim they have factory blueprints for something like 20,000 applications. Place is called Eaton Springs in Detroit. Website is: www.eatonsprings.com.
Real informative site about spring construction, fatigue, dynamics, etc. Seems like they use all the best material and construction methods. Am going to save up and do it unless something better presents itself.

Guys,

Never had the reverse arch your speaking of but when we had the gooseneck loaded on 'Ol Blue she would want to get squirlly crossing bridges. Seems when we hit a bump, she would not settle out on the back end. I wanted a set of overloads but Chrysler wanted 600. 00 plus 80 each for the u bolts. I went to a local junkyard and bought a nice set of overloads and the pads that bolt to the frame for $75. 00, then painted them black and bought new u bolts at a truck shop and assembled it all for right at 100. 00 and they look factory. The pads bolted into existing holes on the frame rails. most folks think she came that way. No more hopping over the rough roads for me. Rides good loaded.

Well the saga continues. Have a really good 4X4 shop locally that is highly regarded by many friends and aquaintances. Had him look at my springs and he said yeah they're kind of tired but in no way dangerous. Said new springs whether Eaton-Detroit or local built are going to be probabably $800 or so installed. Port side of truck is labor issue as they have bolts installed with heads on inside of frame requiring possible dropping of fuel tank for access to remove bolt. Anyway to his credit he said he could make more money on a spring job but suggested I just put on air bags and would be fine. Also said that even if I put on new springs that I should still put on air bags. So air bags go on soon. Air Lift super duties.
