Have any of you had a truck with the manual mirror and tried to install the electric automatic mirror? I was wondering if the wiring harness for the trucks are standard and if they just don't hook up the mirror if it is manual. I purchased an electric mirror from a pick and pull and wanted to know if I would have to completely replace the entire wiring harness.

I have gone from the manual collapsing (pull mirror towards window) mirror to the 4th gen style mirror that fits on a 3rd gen and collapses with the push of a button. No changes were necessary as they were plug and play. Not sure if that helps at all.

My truck doesn't have the wiring for the automatic mirror, I have swapped the mirrors out, but would like to wire it in. I just wanted to know if the wiring harness has that wiring and connector, just tucked away, or would I have to route new wires?

So I found a wiring harness at a pick and pull and removed the wiring that went to the mirror and when I went to hook it up the spots on the plug were filled in. I then had the thought that maybe dodge uses the same wiring harnesses just tape the plugs up in the ceiling if they are not used. Low and behold that is what happened, the plug was in the ceiling the entire time.

That is good to know.. what button on the 3rd gen does the collapse feature? Also, doesn't the 4 Gen have integrated turn signal lights? Do they also work, plug and play?
