Reasonable Rate for hauling/shipping a truck cab?

An extended cab (shell, doors, glass, dash) from Las Vegas to New Jersey. I finally found a rust free replacement cab, but it couldn't be any further away and was curious if anyone has shipped something that large that far?



Fuel costs and time don't make sense for me to go get it (roughly 1400 in fuel alone). Flying out, renting a truck and driving it back doesn't make much more sense (1200 to rent a truck, unlimited milege, plus fuel, plus the plane ticket out)?



The seller says he will put it on a pallet and can load it on or in a truck. I have resources on my end to get it off loaded. Any ideas what to expect or places to look?

It should be a simple transportation need. Contact a "less than truckload" "LTL" shipper in your area and have them pick it up. Some trucking companies specialize in consolidating smaller loads into a full truck load. Shouldn't be real expensive.

I'll have to make some calls and poke around on line to see where the numbers fall. The trip is almost 2300 miles door to door, so even if its $1/mile, that could get expensive quick. We'll see...
