First time posting, long time lurker and love the printed TDR Register. Reminds me of the old MCN magazine when Dave Searle was the editor.

I've scanned more posts than I can count concerning pulling the battery cables and letting the truck sit for 30 minutes or so to perform a hard reboot of the systems. One thing I have not seen was if one should be concerned with loosing tunes when doing this. I would assume the tunes are written to some kind of EPROM and are not in jeopardy of loss when power is disconnected for a period of time.

Many of the posts fall along these lines: "remove pos and neg cables BOTH batteries, then touch the neg and pos CABLES together, then let set for 30 minutes, then let the trucks automated systems come on line after reseting."

Should I be concerned about losing the tunes if I leave the batteries disconnected for days?

I've had a few erroneous error messages pop up on the EVIC - mostly bulb out messages and think that adding "battery cable removal = hard reboot" to the oil/filter maintenance routine might be something worthwhile to do.

Thanks for your thoughts -

Tunes are written the same as the factory program and overwrite the factory program so you won’t lose it.
