I am leaking a great deal of PS fluid from my gear box. It is leaking at the pitman arm shaft and everything still works fine. What everyones opinion on rebuilding these vs just replace. I saw somwhere a seal kit for i think $60.

Thanks

I would replace the seal considering the box operates fine. If necessary you can replace it later. Others have replaced theirs and were unhappy with the operation.

IMHO replacing the box is the way to go.

This is after having dealt with this problem several times on my old 2000 1500 truck, there is a good chance the reason the seal is leaking is because of play in the sector shaft bushing. There is no rebuild kit for these boxes that I have ever been able to locate. All you can get is the seal, which will leak again IF the bushing is bad.

The way to keep the bushing from going bad is to add a DSS from Solid Steel Industries or others AFTER you replace the bad box.
