O. K, I'm told it's time to rebuild the old work horse (360,000) I had a new head installed and it didn't take long to blow the head gasket again. mech, saide block didn't clean up very wll and he was hesitant to put it back togethr. Anyways, had a PDR ported head installed and a SG300 when things went to heck. My question is what all should be done to the engine when it is down this time? Eventually want to go twins. Got a lone and want to do it right this time.

thanks

I'm wanting to do the same on my '96 when I get some time and money later this year. It's deteriorated a lot in the last 5000 miles and is pushing oil out everywhere. There is a lot of vapor coming out the blowby tube and it's pulsing badly. I have just under 405,000 miles.

Anyway you might be able to rehone it without having to bore it, then you'll probably have to polish the crank, resize rods, deck the block, and might as well balance the assembly. If/when I do mine I'll do a cam swap too :D
