Not that is mentioned in the owners or technical manuals.

What I did was find out how much it is off and just subtract it every time as my has remained a constant 2. 5 mpg off since I added injectors.

While I was monkeying with mine once, I managed to get single digit numbers to show up on the display. I could adjust the numbers from one to six, I believe, and of course did not remember where it was when I first got there.

Took it back to DC and they told me "don't monkey with this". They also did not tell me what it was (kinda like they did not know what it was). Seems to me that I may have been somewhere in the fuel mileage or distance to empty menus when I double or triple tapped both buttons to cause this to occur.

I would be very interested if anyone knew about this feature and what it does. It did not seem to make the truck perform any different or effect the message display in any way.

IN the owners manual under your compass the numbers you were wondering about are declination numbers

If your compass is calibrated. The cal. indication will not be showing.

To set the variance turn the ignition on depress the step button until the comp/temp is displayed simultaneously press both the US/metric button to select the proper variance. After you do After 5sec. it will be calibrated. I see you live in Cal. so you want number 4

gunner,

they are the magnetic offsets for different areas of the country. All they do is make the compass accurate or if you mess it up , less accurate.

Andy

Well, Thank You both. That just makes to much sense. I really have no explanation on why I was not able to figure that out myself. My wifes car is a Lincoln MK VIII and has the very same set up.

I am going to have to use my age and oncoming old timers disease for an excuse on this one.

Thanks again!
