I looked around online today. My truck in sig has never been to dealer since I picked it up. The numbers they are quoting look good. Doesn't start until OCT 1. Anyone have info or have looked into this. I was thinking about getting a 5500 C@C with a custom bed for fiver and truck camper. All thoughts and ideas are welcome. I need to update sig. Zephyr is sold, have a 5th wheel and love it.

My truck is part of the group subject to possible buyback as well. The numbers on my truck, I feel, are very good. See the thread I started, i.e. Buyback Program, if you want more info.

The initial NHTSB order said purchase price plus 10% for the initial value, then a 'depreciation' would be calculated. The recall webpage is up and running (http://recalls.mopar.com), but once you go through the VIN and mileage, it tells you the value is KBB trade in plus 10%. I was disappointed as my 2010 with 52k miles came back at $29,400 + $2,940 = $32,340. I am the original owner and the purchase price was $43,500. That number does not seem like much of an effort on FCA's part to follow the order. Time will tell...

Sheeesh, that seems like an excellent price for a 5-6 year old vehicle. I wonder how much more depreciation there would be if it was a gas engine.

Getting roughly 75 percent of what you paid for a six year old truck, no questions asked, is a smokin' deal in my book.......

I disagree..............

The number does sound pretty good for a typical trade. My point is that the number is NOT, as I see it, calculated per the order. In my case, that 10% would be $4350 whether it's applied before or after depreciation. Just looking for my best option, as that's what all of us do in any transaction, right?
If it were primarily a dealer problem, would FCA pay $105 million fine?

Posted n the other thread I was wrong about the 10% above purchase price number. For those of you that read all the words and took all of the grammar to account, Purchase Price (capital letters) is after depreciation. Lower case purchase price was stuck in my head. Thanks for keeping me honest! I may still get the truck appraised for sharable info.

According to my VIN for the truck in my sig, they will offer 47k Oct 1. I will wait and see what happens. But I might take that. I was never mailed a recall notice for anything. On the web site is says I have 3 recalls that need done. Tie rod ends, fuel heater, washer fluid. Never heard about any of them. The truck has been flawless for 41k. Just completed 8k trip pulling 5th wheel.

That's pretty good for a 2011. The 2016's are way better.

Well, I won't lie.( not even to myself) If I sell it I will turn around and order a new one. I will be looking real close at the 5th wheel prep system. From what I see I think I will love it.

The prep is IMHO one of the best options. Rock solid attachment to the frame.

I looked up my VIN and I see the fuel heater recall P65 (complete) as well as a steering wheel wiring harness recall R36 (just appeared - have not been in to get it done yet).

I am surprised that I see nothing else since my truck is a 2012.

I think this means my truck is unaffected and so I am not eligible for the buyout, correct?

Thanks.

P.S. I did receive a letter regarding the fuel heater recall P65, but have yet to receive anything on the steering wheel wiring harness recall R36.

Not necessarily. Did the dealer look it up? I think they have a more complete look up.

The reason there's a 10% penalty to the customer is because they didn't inform all the customers.

The buyback Is related to the tie rods. (Death wobble).

It's only 4x4's.

It has nothing to do with death wobble...
