Anybody know anything about the C02 recall? Was at the dealer Friday to have the Check Gauges light service letter done and to order a new alt. bracket (Yep, mine cracked too). They said there was a PCM recall to fix a problem with some trucks that were intermittently increasing engine speed after the use of the speed control. I haven't had this problem, but I thought I heard something about some re-flash derating the engine. I just had on the dyno and it was perfect 262 hp and 481 lb-ft and I don't want it to be turned down any. Any info would help...

Not all trucks need the fix. It depends on the serial number and date of manufacture. The problem is that after prolonged use of the cruise control, the engine stays in a high idle and doesn't allow the vehicle to slow down. That can get pretty scary. While I didn't have it happen to me, I didn't make any long trips either. My truck was one of the serial numbers effected and I had the reflash done. I found no detrimental effects on either fuel economy or performance. I would have it done if it needs it. FWIW.

I had the co2 recall done and mine mileage went from 20 to 21 down to 17 if I am easy on the throttle. Had lose of power also. Dealer said sorry to bad.

The dealer shouldn't be Flashing your PCM unless there is a problem and they are fixing that problem with the flash. You can cause strange problems by Flashing a module JUST because a flash is available. I work at a dealer in GA and the SM would have our ass' if we flash just for the 0. 5 hour labor.

Also there is a new TSB out for the clutch. I don't remember the number, but it is a fix for a rattle that goes away when the clutch is pressed.

CO2 did not affect my truck at all, HOWEVER, the "check gages" fix totally screwed everything up because they did not disconnect my E_ brake beforehand!!!! Going on day #11 and still no idea when replacement parts might make it in. This chevy gasser thing I've been driving has to go!!! The clutch fix supposedly is a new disc with tighter springs in it , supposed to be out at end of month!
