Has snyone noticed a drop n fuel mileage after having this recall done. I check my fuel mileage very often by the overhead computer snd it has stayed the same, until I took my truck in and had the recall performed. My fuel mileage has dropped 3-4 mpg and I don't understand why. I am going to actually check it by the trip on the dash this tank and see if it has fallen, or if the overhead computer was affected.

I have been watching that too. The first tank I had quite a few miles on it when they did it and did not think too much about it. I have been watching the overhead on this one and it does seem to be lower, not be much but lower. I will see when I fill it up and put the pencil to it.

The recall is to have the ECM reflashed. They say that after using the CC the ECM may set the idle really high and there i no way to bring it back down to normal idle.

It takes less than 30 minutes to do if you don't mess anything up I. E. fallow directions. The ones I have done I have not had any problems with.

My overhead also dropped off about two MPG, but a quicky with the pen and paper still showed about 18. 4. Will do a more accurate figure on this next tank!!:)

I had mine done yesterday and noticed the same thing. I am glad that I reread this post, it had me bothered.

BTW They told me Ihad an air leak in the rear of the truck.

I said "really?" and they said yes. They continued insisting that it was an air leak. I finally told them it was an exhaust brake:rolleyes: and left. In retrospect I shouldn't have said anything.

Had mine done and I can see no difference in mileage or overhead disply reading. I have noticed that fuel prices have fallen quite a bit aroud here. $1. 41 is the best I have seen.

mine has also dropped alot, 4mpg, on paper and the overhead.

pulling a lowly 6500# at <70 mph I only got 12. 2 mpg. :--)

last time I made the same trip pulling 5500# I got 16. 7, hard to believe 1000# can make that much difference
