Funny they don’t include the 2500. I had noticed that on my 2012 they switched over to metric studs and they are smaller in diameter than the old 9/16” studs the older trucks had. I had a few stretch and one break off when going to the manual torque spec of 135-140 Ft lbs. I’ve been torquing to 120 ft lbs on my wheels ever since with no issues.

Been using a 130'# torque stick on mine with some oil between nut and washer. Also use anti-seize on studs since I'm in high corrosion zone! 100yds from the Chesapeake Bay!

Would have been nice if The manufacturer would have put the the correct torque value in the press release. Now we wait eight weeks ?

2500 isn’t listed because they don’t use the same lug nuts, nor does the 3500 SRW.

This is a DRW only “issue”.

It would be nice if the correct torque had been listed.

We don’t know what they are saying is too much, just that some owners manuals may have the wrong torque.

140 is what’s in my manual for the DRW lug nuts.

could be wrong but I think my 11 DRW said up to 150 so that’s why I have gone 150 on this one.

I just found a 2011 manual that said 130-160 for flanged and 120-150 for coned.

I torqued my 05 to 140 and do the same on my 18, thou the 18 only calls for 130. The studs are different thou. Then again I’ve only rotated them myself once. I doubt that commercial tire goes to 140.

Dad had a wheel almost fall off from loose lug nuts on his 06, they were torqued to 120 about 300 miles prior.

Thanks, that and my DRV's have been 150 so it was easy to remember.

I found this recall announcement very interesting, as I had an issue with lugs on my '17 3500DRW. Truck had 5-7k miles on it at this time.

My 2017 Ram 5500 C&C manual lists 130 to 160 Lb Ft for flanged lug nuts... I've tightened mine to 130 Lb Ft and no problems so far after three tire rotations.

Still, it's curious they don't state what proper Tq is... I'd bet 130 is good.

Cheers, Ron

Went and looked at my 2018 Pickup OM and it had 140ft-lb for flange nuts. Looked at a 2020 C&C manual and it had same range you specified.

Has anybody gone to the dealer to find what the correct torque should be ,my manual says 130 to 160.
