I got a notice from a local dealer that has never serviced my truck. I bought a fuel filter one time from them.

Recall # H46 or #1446. one or the other cant tell with the hand written number. Any one know what this is about?

Thanks

Sounds bogus to me.

I suspect it's about a desperate and unethical attempt to find a few uninformed owners who will show up at their service department. They'll either pretend to look in a computer then tell the victim it was a mistake but they are offering a great deal on diesel engine tune ups, new plugs, points, and rotor, etc. or they'll write it up as advertised and send it back to a service bay where the tech will discover the customer does not need the recall performed but does need new universal joints or a transmission flush.

I've been getting an increased level of junk mail from dealers or warranty companies all over the US trying to sell warranties.

Use the last 8 characters if you VIN at dodge website under owners. This will tell you if there are recalls for your truck.

I few weeks ago when I took my truck to the dealer for a free six month oil change, they did inspect the steering linkage and said that my truck didn't have the linkage that had posed a problem and therefore required no recall repair.

It's recall H46 about steering linkage.
Got the same recall, but I have already replaced the "inferior" part with a Borgeson shaft. Dodge service leaves alot to be desired,(At least in my neck of the woods) Also i found the recall on CarFax, and it will stay open until i take it to the dealer and have them inspect it.
