Recall Notice

I was driving to Portland early this morning and listening to NPR. I heard them say there was a recall on Dodge pickups. Can't remember exactly all the models, but I know the '99-2001 was included. Seems there is some kind of problem in the steering column that may interfere with the airbag. Didn't read anything in tonights paper, but that's not surprising in this town. Not sure I have all the details right, but I know my truck was included in the bunch. I'm going into my dealer tomorrow to have my cracked driverside mirror replaced tomorrow and will ask them about the recall. Has anyone else heard about this?

Thanks Bob. That information will be usefull when I talk with my dealer. The way they made it sound though, it seemed like something new.

I got the recall notice and before i could bring my truck in for service the Clockspring broke, so i would take the recall seriously. I just had mine replaced this week.

man, so thats what a clockspring is. I've been seeing so many posts about a clockspring but could never figure out what it was. I always figured it was some fandangled part that didnt mean much. I guess since you pay extra for the airbag, it'd be nice if it went off! Guess I'll go see if the truck needs a new one. I havent noticed any of the discribed problems. Thanks for the info... man I love this site.
