I seem to remember someone posting info on recall notices and a way to call them up a while back but I can't seem to find the info now that I need to research throttle cable breakage problems. Any one out there able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks, Jones

Just tried the above link. Was at work today when I posted and just tried at home. not much on it.

Hi Jones,

Sorry I can't help with the US side of this but I'm pasting the response from the Canadian Trans. Dept. on this following my writing to them about it.

>This Recall also applies to Canadian vehicles. A total of 18,000 vehicles

will be recalled in Canada.

The Recall has not yet been added to our website. Please understand that it

does take time to update the website, I do believe its about a months time(I may

be mistaken on that). You must keep in mind that everything must be reviewed by

our recall officer, registered into our database and translated into both

official languages, then put on the website.

> If your vehicle is affected by the Recall, you will receive a notice of

> defect from the manufacturer via mail. At this time, please make sure

> that your vehicle is registered under the correct owner name and address. This

> should be done by contacting DaimlerChrysler Canada at 1-800-465-2001.

If thats any help.

I have had my '93 since '93 and have never received a recall notice for anything. I still live at the same address so thats not a problem. The driveline re-alignment was a TSB that I happened upon. I am aware of a recall on some first gen VE pumps and there may be others associated with auto trannys??? Hope this helps.

Thanks to all,

Got as far as getting the title and number of the TSBs but they want you to subscribe to get any moe specific info. Guess nuttin' is free anymore. I'm thinking maybe an upgrade is in order in the form of heavier gauge aircraft cable to keep from stretching or breaking the original. And just when I was seeing the end of my last home project... Disc brake set-up for the rear. I think I'm gonna have to live to be about 145 just to get all these projects done.

Anyway, thanks again guys. Jones

I have the Popular Mechanics version of the alldata on CD, for the "92" . Give me the recall numbers you need info on and I can post or email you the data.

Alan,

The closest I could find are D/C recall #'s 966, 970 & 971. NHSTA Recall # 01V037. Should deal with throttle cable breakage and/or excessive pedal stiffness. I snapped my cable and got to idle home... plenty of time to meditate. Dodge parts dept. says they have an updated cable assy. but the service dept. knows nothing about a recall. I'd like to be able to jog their memory a little and let them replace the cable assy. any help would be appreciated.

Your local Dodge dealers Service Advisor or, if they have one, their Dispatcher can look up this info via Damliers computer system. They can tell you which recalls have been done and which have not been done. You will need the year, make, model and vin number. I was a Dispatcher for a dealership for 6 months so I know it can be done. Hope this helps.

Happy Trails

None of the numbers you have listed, are listed in this data base, are these issued against the Dodge truck? The numbers don't match the format I have, ie 3 numeric with 1 alpha digit or 6 numeric with 1 alpha digit. You may need to follow Bob's advice and get with your Dodge Dealer or maybe a Chrysler dealer if the dodge dealer is un-cooperative.
