Consumer Reports shows a new recall on 2019-2022 1500, 2500, 3500 trucks (they published this noon or so 12/13/2022) for tailgate latch alignment that can allow tailgate to come open. The company says the recall action does not include trucks with a multifunction tailgate, or with tailgate sensors, or Ram 1500 Classic pickups. June 2022 an improved alignment tool was put in place to properly install the tailgate strikers to solve the problem.

EDITED TO CORRECT MY LEAVING OUT THE 3500 THAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. SORRY FOR MY MISTAKE.

you will if you loose a set of Makita tools like I did a year ago... definitely going to look into it. Lost my M12 complete set, tailgate was down and tools gone when I got to the job I was working on.......

In case you didn't have the links. Had a similar, wording anyway, tailgate recall on my 2016 and then repaired. One I see outstanding on my 2022 (2500): NHTSA 22V-835, from the Mopar link

Some 2020-2022 MY Ram 3500 trucks equipped with the Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engine and 68RFE transmission ("68RFE") may experience transmission fluid expelling from the dipstick tube, which may come into contact with an ignition source within the engine compartment. In certain circumstances, a build up of pressure and heat inside the transmission may result in transmission fluid being expelled from the dipstick tube, which may come in contact with ignition sources within the engine compartment and lead to a vehicle fire.

And I see this one just showed up in the last day or so under NHTSA 22V-904, NHTSA site:

Summary
Some 2019-2022 MY Ram 3500 trucks may have been built with one or both tailgate strikers misaligned. Misaligned tailgate strikers may cause a failure to properly latch the tailgate. An improperly latched tailgate may result in an unintended tailgate opening while driving or stationary.

Interesting that they both say 3500 in the text (just copied and pasted) , my truck is a 2500, and shows as a 2500, under my VIN, on both of those sites.
