Several days past, I recieved a recall letter from CD. It said that a fire could result from a faulty ignition switch! Anyone else?

If you are talking about this one, I must have got my notice months ago. Had the work done. No problems.

When this all came about , I went to the dealer and asked about it. He told me mine was built one day after the cut-off date. I think I'm going to crawl around the underdashzone and look to see if I have that relay .

Got mine last week. I'm calling my local dealer today. I HATE to let anyone touch my truck, but it's supposed to be an easy fix.

Bikebum,

I had this recall months ago and had my dealer do the fix. They said that there WAS some wiring in the steering column that showed signs of melting.
Best to get this taken care of.

Wow, it still runs and everything! #ad
Maybe I found a DC service department that actually knows what it's doing? Too early to tell!

I am the third owner of my 95 and got the recall letter. I called 3 dealers in the area and decided on Ferrero DC in Loveland, Co. I had a 7:30 AM appt. I was told that some trucks have had extensive damage that could take as long as 5 to 7 hours to repair. I have a brake controller mtd on the knee bolster and a remote starter/door lock installed aftermarket on this pickup. The dealer's service writer said no problem, we will check it all out as a courtesy. (Wow) The neat part was they were done in 1. 5 hrs. Very polite and friendly dealer to work with if you are in this area. Then, two days later, they called to ask if everything went OK. Yes this is a true story. Must be why they are a 5 star Dodge dealer.

Had my recall done last week in Yuma. After they completed the recall work they came and asked me if my blower motors was working when I brought in in. Itold them it was. They got it working, but when I turned the key off the blower motor kept running. Took it back and the service manager said I had so many ad ons that they don't know what was causing the problem. I told him everything worked fine when I brought it in. He checked it out and traced it to my pac-brake. Turn key off blower motor ran and then turn on pac-brake switch and blower motor went off. ???. My BD pressure-loc is hooked to the pac-brake fuse. The pressure-loc has a 3 to 4 volt feed back that keeps the blower moter running. Took fuse out of pressure-loc and everything works fine. Got an appointment with my BD rep to check this out. The pressure-loc was hooked to the radio fuse and messed up my radio memory. BD rep in Sumas, WA told me to hook it to the pac-brake. Beware if you have a BD pessure-loc. I'll let you know how this comes out.
