All,

I picked up my 2k in december of 99 and have not received any recall notices in the mail. Who's responsibliity is it to insure that at least the safety recalls are completed? Trailer Hitch Reinforcement Brackets, Seat Belt Anchor Bolt Retorqueing, Clockspring Replacement, Brake Hose/ABS Wheel Sensor Replacement, Front Axle/Lower Control Arm Bracket Separation are all safety recalls and I have not had any performed nor have I been notified of any recall. I would not have any of this information if not for this board.

Thanks

Jim

I make it MY responsibilty to take care of MY truck. If you know of safety recalls, and want them done, the ball is on your side of the court.

I recently got the recall on replacing the throttle linkage. I'm contemplating taking care of that soon.

Jim,

I also picked up my '00 Ram in dec of '99 (built dec 11) . The only recall I had on it so far was for the lift pump. I didn't know there was a seatbelt bolt recall, and I recently noticed my anchor bolt is loose!

Anyway, not all trucks in the model year fall under all the recalls... mine did not fall under the hitch or control arm or clockspring. Usually Dodge is pretty good at sending out notices, but you can go by the dealer, give them your VIN number and they'll tell you what outsanding recalls are on your truck.

same here , 2000 picked up jan '00 , only thing i had done was the lift pump , i'll check the seat belt anchors , didn't get anything on the lift pump , i got that info here and even my dealer didn't know about it ...

you want it done you have to do it yourself ...

Thanks, OBVIOUSLY now that I know about the recalls I will get the work done. My question is that since there is a recall and I have not been informed of such a recall and my trailer falls off the back of my truck and kills a family of four is the money Dodge is saving on paper and stamps worth it. Because I WON'T take responsibility for that.

Thanks Mike and Mopar,

I did get my lift pump replaced early on. I'll call my dealer and check my vin for the other recalls.
