Has anyone had an issue with their stock receiver hitch bending or the receiver hole enlarging (stretching)? My receiver seems to be getting sloppy from the hitch banging away at it. I was thinking about getting a class V hitch but wanted one that went in the same location as the stock one and didn't hang low. Any Ideas and photos?

I would rather have them a little loose, because if there tight rust will form, and it's hard to get the hitch out... . As far as the pin hole ,no problem there as of yet...

Yes! the square part has always been a bit loose and the hitch pin hole has elongated on one side (passenger) and it did this when I was only towing a 4400 Lb TT. Now with the 7000 lb rig it has not gotten much worse but before the warranty runs out I'm going to ask for a new hitch.

Class V

I went with a Titan class V and it fits perfectly in the stock position. Keep in mind you need to cut the factory hitch off the factory frame cross member.

When I took my stock hitch off my '03 to install my new bumper, I just unbolted it. No cutting required.

I have a friend that has a desertfox about the same size as yours, his tw is 1200lbs-that is more than the rating of the factory hitch ;)

Remember that some dealers install their own trailer packages because they can do it for more profit than if they ordered it from the factory... . that way... . they can sell the truck bare and if you want a tow package they can add it on..... If is not on the invoice than its dealer added.....

Everything on the truck in the form of a wiring harness is there... just needs to be tied into.....

My Reese Titan V is 2 1/2 inches and sets right under the factory 2 inch hitch. I like it on the 4X4's because you dont have to have such a large drop in the hitch ball. I was'nt confortable with the factory hitch being right on the end of the frame. I have had no problems with the Titan and I have a Reese spacer that allows me to use it like a 2 inch receiver.

I got my Reese Tow Beast together a couple of weeks ago.

14,000 rating and I can double up using the OEM hitch when I use my 14" extension to clear my camper. I'm planning on fabricating something up like the Torq lift "Double" hitches.

The Custom Hitch Insert is from TDR member Jake.
