I saw a 2d gen truck yesterday that had a Ram head hitch cover in the receiver hitch.

This was not your typical plastic Walmart special, it looked like it was billet or stainless steel. Anyone have one or know where I can get one?

Thanks

Check Ebay

I have one on ebay for sale. I bought two different plugs and now selling the ram head plug. I believe the item number is 2456616487

thanks for looking

Here are the nicest hitch plugs I've ever seen, I bought one of the Cummins ones and it was better than expected. The pictures don't do it justice. I think the guys got an ad on the TDR.

I bought both the Ram head and the Cummins plug and kept the Cummins plug, of course. I agree on the quality. My ram head is $10 less than the same plug by precision cutting. I'm just trying to recover the cost of the plug.

$2 more expensive!

That nice stainless Cummins hitch plug is $40 plus $6 shipping on ebay.

In the TDR classifieds it's $48 which includes shipping

Why the difference?

I don't like hitch plugs for this reason: They don't protect the back of my truck. Even when I'm not towing, I put up with a shin smashing receiver shaft hanging off the back of the truck so when I get rear-ended, the vehicle that hits me has to eat that hitch. Hitch covers are nice, but don't do enough damage to other cars that hit you. :)

My plug on ebay :D

Not sure who is selling in the classifieds here on the TDR but the Precision Cutting on ebay is the company who is making them. I am only guessing that the person who is selling here on the TDR has a markup of only $2.

Hitch plugs are nice looking, but I have to agree with the responses about keeping a good drop hitch in place! My neighbor parked right across the street from my driveway in early

Dec. My rear topper window iced over so I didn't see his vehicle in my side mirror until my pickup had used it (a Furd Exploder 2Dr) as a wheel chock...

At any rate, my pretty aluminum Ram Head plug didn't do me any good at all. The "protector" around the trailer plug took it in the shorts. My drop hitch would have come in handy... I wrote a check for nearly $800 to him because his tail light assembly had to be replaced, among other things!! I had to buy a new 7 pin connector and still have to get the protector box straightened so I can install it. I'd probably still have had to write him a sizeable check, but I'd also still have an operational trailer wire outlet. :D
