I've seen racks that are of a mesh platform design and slides into your rear reciever so you can hold equipment like motorcycles, coolers or what have you. Anybody have any experience with these or knows who manufactures them?

Any bad experiences?

I have used one before, they work great. The only thing is its easy to forget it is there, its hard enough to see backing up, with that rack on the back, you really have to pay attention. I borrowed it from a friend. He got it from Cabelas, it cost $69. 99. and it is made of steel. They also have like 5 other versions, some are heavier duty, some are aluminum, one folds up. Take a look and see what suits your needs.

I made one for our Durango, and it only cost me about $20. 00 in metal from the local scrap yard. We use it for holding luggage on long trips. This thing is solid, and it is better than anything I could have bought! I painted it, installed a deflector so the exhaust goes under the botton, and put reflective tape on the back. If you have a welder, I can send you the measurements I used to make mine. The most expensive part was the 5/8" drill bit to put the reciever pin through.

I have one and I put it in my front reciever and load it with fire wood when I pull my T T and when we go snowmobieling it holds gas cans. I got mine out of Cabeles also.

Thanks

Cliff

Receiver Racks

Haven't used one but have several friends who swear by 'em. You can also find them in the Northern Hydraulics catalog—cheap and many styles!:)

A recommendation - run a tie from the rack back to the frame/hitch of the truck to take out the slop in the slide-in. I've seen a couple these racks 'floppin' in the breeze' & one or two on the side of the hwy.

Crank and Chrome showed a new style from Drawtite I believe that has two extra receivers welded towards the sides of the hitch. They offer various accessories to use with this new system. This new setup allows you to still use your rig to pull say your boat or whatever. It also offers a much more stable platform then the single center setups. Good idea I thought!

Thanx, they've got a nice site (Cabelas, that is)

Thats exactly what I'm looking for.

Unfortunetly I can't use that double reciever :( ,Just got a Reunel rear bumper:D

Thanx again.
