Who's Got A Telescope?

Thunderstruck 2 snowmachine Video...cool stuff

already have a sig P220, want something slimmer and maybe smaller. Must be double action!! Sorry no 1911 types for me. Oh they are great but thats not what I want.

I still am in love with my Glock G36. Carrys VERY well (Better than my buds G26) Couple that with a Sidearmor Kydex IWB and now you are talkin! Still am waiting to get that ProCarry II Kimber (But you don't want a 1911)

Sig

I love my Sigs, P220(. 45) and P226(. 40 and 9mm) but they are a little thick for carrying, especially concealed.

The Sig offering is a little lacking in a small gun. I think the P232 and the Pro series are a little odd IMHO and I don't think they offer anything in . 45.

I am not that big a guy at 5'10" 170lbs but I do carry my full size Kimber once in a while because it's slim. My favorite gun to carry is my Kahr K9 in 9mm. Less than a . 45 but sweet to carry. I had a guy make me a custom high ride holster for it and with a light jacket you can't hardly tell it's there. Another gun I carry is a S&W 4013. It is a great little gun that I purchased used with an IWB (Inside the WaistBand) holster. I am pretty used to the features because I used to own a 4506 and it has a little more power than the 9mm. I think they come in a compact . 45.

If you are interested in revolvers the Ruger SP101 is a nice little package. I know two guys that own one and love them. . 357 is not a bad caliber either.

I am curious, why not a 1911?

Taurus:

Millenium Pro PT 145

Shot one at Point Mugu, it's a double stack configuration so fat but with the short barrel (3. 25") adds stability.

A very accurate close range pistol.

Magnum Research:

SP-21

Only went through one clip with this one. I would have to get use to the looks, has integral rail for optics. Nice feel and good action with ported barrel.

Both units are around 500. 00 so they won"t break the bank.

Read and rent before you buy, you won"t be sorry.

Good luck, Mike

I'm a smaller built guy (5'9", 155 lbs) and from all the handling of pistols I've done, come January I'm going to get a G36. It's slim and fairly compact, and I can conceal it on my smaller frame. Will add night sites and extensions to all releases.

looked at the H&K USP compact and liked everything but the price. kbennett, I just don't care for single action pistols. Have at least 1k each of 9mm and 45 acp ammo, but do like the springfield XD 4 inch in 40 caliber. But will have to get a larger safe if I have to keep 1,000 rounds of 40 on hand. Although I have thought about another safe just for ammo. I don't really need another gun, but want one, so it has to be different for me to justify it, at least in my own mind. Isn't life such a dillema!

Reload!

I understand the justification thing.

I had to justify buying a reloader so it would cost less to shoot!

Now I just spend the saved money on guns.

Presses:

Lee Challenger - Good beginner

RCBS Rock Crusher - Good solid single stage

2 - Dillon RL550B's - Can you say 400 rds per hour X 2?

2- MEC Sizemasters

Calibers I reload:

9mm,357,40,44,45acp,45colt,17-222,223,6mm,30-06,410 & 12guage.

If any of you guys need info on the subject let me know and best of luck figuring out the gun that's best for you.

loadin

I just got into loadin, man what the heck was i waiting for! It's definitly fun and worth the time. I'm starting to bench my 22-250, my buddy has a cronograph that i've been playing with. Fun stuff.

I like the USP compact 45, i had one, but i sold it. I only shoot 9mm and . 40 for handguns. Oh yeah my cheesy 9x18 Mak too for those remember... . IT HASN'T BLOWN UP YET! hehe

Doesn't sig make a p245 that is a compact . 45? Sig and HK are spendy, so are kimbers... . that's really just the name of the game though.

I have a s&w model #457 . 45 ACP that I would suggest. I have had mine about 6 years now and I love it. It is the 7+1 double/single action model. I have literally put about 5000 rounds through this thing and have never had a misfire. I bought mine in black, but I think they make the same gun under a different # in stainless. I paid about $450 for it new and I think they are still right in that ballpark. :) :)

emarsh, if you like the 220, why not get the Sig P 245?

It's an abbreviated version of the 220.

Many people who own the 220 also buy the 245 for Carry purposes.

They say it's just as reliable and accurate as the 220. I cant say if mags will interchange as I dont own either.

Eric

I can't find anyone who has one (sig P245) in stock, I refuse to buy any gun before I can hold it in my own hand. The p220 mags WILL fit the P245 but not vive versa. I may end up with a P 239 in 40 s&w. I'm not in a hurry so keep the suggestions coming. I never had this much problem justifying a gun before, must be getting too close to retirement!

45 ACP

Doesn`t Para - Ordinance make a DA? If so, it would be a good choice. They make neat toys. P-14 (?) is real neat. I`m a 1911 type , myself. Oo.

Para-Ord make the LDA units. The new one is the CCW model.

Emarsh let us know what you end up with.

I was looking at a PO compact with the DAO trigger.

Pretty good feeling trigger for a DAO pistol. Not long and crappy at all... like you might think it would be.

Eric

well I settled for a s&w 40 springfield XD pistol in 4 inch. Gonna pick it up on the 27th after the waiting period and a short vacation. The price of ammo on 40 is good, and I needed something different than what I have to justify the purchase, so I guess I''ll join the plastic pistol group afterall!
