Stolen Truck

I have a 2008 6.7 Cummins with less than 100K that I need a shop to repair my truck. Starts, doesn't run well at all. Replaced the fuel filter and didn't make a difference. I'm in Mecosta County near: Big Rapids, Mt. Pleasant, Claire, US 10 & M66.

Any help would be appreciated. I'll need to have the truck flat bedded somewhere. I'm looking for a good repair not speed. Called the Ram dealer in Mt. Pleasant and "they have a diesel tech starting soon but couldn't look at it for even a week".

I also have a 2008 6.7L Cummins. Now is the truck stock? What are the symptoms when you say it is not running will? There could be several causes such as a plugged DPF, air filter plugged, cracked air lines from, to the turbo, EGR could be plugged? The VGR turbo may be at fault also. A little more information on how the truck operates and what service has been done to the truck would be very helpful.

Didn't have my code reader. The tuck had been parked for a couple of months with a Battery Tender on it. I waited for the grid heater to cycle and started the truck. It ran fine while I drove it out of the garage and a couple of hundred feet, parking it for half an hour. On restart it surged noticably and ran very rough. The truck is stock and well maintained. The fuel filter had been changed last year and only had about 4K miles on it. I changed the filter with a MOPAR filter that I carry. The old was was black. Fuel had been treated at last fill up with Hot Shot

No check engine light, correct?

Your fuel filter being black is no issue. Mine are always black when I change them.

Have you checked the air cleaner box for signs of rodent nesting or debris in the air intake tubing? This might be what's causing the truck to run rough not enough air.

It is very difficult to diagnosis the issue without looking at the truck. So, all I can do is provide suggestions. Hope this helps?

Thank you. Taking my code reader with me this trip. will spend some more time checking everything. The troubling thing is that it ran fine when parked and half an hour later the problem developed. Found a shop about 25 miles away that I can tow it to.

Okay, checked the fault code and P2262 for turbocharger issues. Trying local shop in Big Rapids, MI. Still don't understand how quickly this came on.

If the shop if you go that way say's you need a new turbo. Asked them if it is the actuator that is at fault? If so, Geno's sells a plug and play actuator for your year of truck around $800. This is a more cost-effective solution than replacing the entire turbo. Check out Geno's garage web site for a replacement actuator.

Just a suggestion. Let us know what the shop finds out or what you finial decided on.
