Recommendations for Freon Scale

Looking to purchase a scale for adding freon. With 134 being so finicky gauges are not precise enough, a little over or under can drastically affect performance. I mainly use 30lb bottles but sometimes the cans. Anybody have any recommendations for scales they use ?.

I use the new CPS scale in the black plastic carry case. It is a corded model, not the wireless. I can get the model number if you want. I'm an HVAC contractor for 25 years, residential and light commercial, but I do my cars as well. My last one lasted almost 15 years of nearly daily use.

Yes please check the model #. I do not want to buy something that I will regret later.

I am watching this as well, a good scale is next on my shop tool list.



I use a digital bathroom scale right now that I bought at a yard sale. It works well, shows ounces, etc. but display shuts off after 5 seconds. Have to keep tapping it to wake it back up as I add R-134A.....

Two years ago I bought a nice little vacuum pump.



Last year a new set of Snap-On's finest gauges to replace an old cheap set that I had. The Snap-On gauges have the nice connectors with the screw down couplers.



Maybe this year a nice scale.....

We use the CPS CC220 Compute-A-Charge Scale. Works great and measures to 1/4 oz. We use it with 30 lb containers also.

I recently bought a Mastercool Accu-Charge II from tooltopia.com, part # 98210-a. I think it was $130-140. Corded control, has alarms to set for charging amounts. I haven't used it enough to know how all the functions work but so far it has been good. I thought it was a decent price for a name brand product when I bought it.

CPS also, operates on a 9 volt battery and will handle a 50 lb cylinder, believe it measures in . 00 oz increments. Around $150 at Johnstone Supply, or RSD.

I just looked, mine is the CPS CC220. I highly recommend it for this as well as its very handy to weigh packages to ship.
