Looking for a supplier/installer who can install a 50 gallon combo box in my RAM somewhere in the I-5 corridor in Oregon (want to save the sales tax). ANy recommendations out there?
I have a RDS box that I bought on line 3 years ago from Northern Tool. It is rated at 60 gal, but the most you can safely put in it is 55 gal. I gravity feed it to a T connection in the filler neck rubber hose. It is sold as a (Tool/Fuel box) It has ample storage for tools, and other equiptment.
I went that way after nearly running out of fuel after leaving the Painted desert. After leaving, all the town's shown on the map were actually empty. As we entered these towns we found boarded up gas stations and stores and vacant houses. Finally with just fumes left in the tank, I came upon a lone shop with a sign "Jose's Gas" He didn't accept credit cards, and Deisel was $4 bucks a gallon CASH. This was double the price at any truck stop. I was over a barrel, and so I filled it up(34. 9gallons) as I said I was on fumes. That night at a RV park in Truth or Consequences New Mexico I got on lime and ordered the tank. I vowed never to get that low on fuel again. Now I fuel up at the low prices, and travel knowing that I can tow my 5r for 900 miles on 1 fill up, or if I'm not towing, I can go 1700mi on a fill up
