Got the truck. Got the Cap.

Did you remove the plastic molding at the top of the bed to install your cap or did you leave it there. If you left it there did you place any sealant under it?

Either way - have you had any leaks around the bed and if so, where.

Thanks!
Dan

Hi Dan,
I have the ARE cap. I left the bed as is from the factory. So far no signs of leakage . The Atlanta weather has been nasty as of late, and I have been caught in a few heavy storms.

Just put an ARE Z-Series on mine a week ago. I left everything on the truck that came on it. We had our first light rain today, to light to tell at this point. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes....

Most caps are designed to fit best with the plastic rails on the truck. I drilled through the rails and reinforced parts of the bed lips to mount my cap. Before mounting, I used a magnet on a stick repeatedly to remove "all" of the metal shavings from the drilling process.
