I'm looking at getting the recon clerance lights, but I thought awhile back people were having problems with them leaking. I was wondering who's running these and how they like them. I'm for sure going to get there Big Rig Leds, 62" and the Fender lights, but the cab lights are still a maybe. Thanks...

I have them on my truck. Then I did some small modifications on them. (of course) As of today Ive had them about a year and a half... . no leaks. I took out the screws they provided and used stainless steel ones with the smallest "O" rings I could find. This prevented overtorque of the plastic lenses. Also, think 2x before using the LED lights in them. Alot do. Personally I dont like them because for the most part LEDS are directional. Meaning they are bright from the front, but can hardly see them from the sides. I know alot of guys like them... . just my $0. 02.

I agree with most of what Holysmokes said. I also replaced the screws with stainless, only instead of 0 rings I just used permatex silicone everywhere. DO NOT over-tighten the screws, just like the OEM's the plastic is very brittle. You can get LEDs that are multi-directional but due to the design of the light itself you don't really get a whole lot of light from the sides anyway. I used LED's since they are brighter from the front and since the lights are clear themselves I wanted a true amber light not the orange'ish light the colored bulbs usually put out.

Here are some lights if your interested.

either the WLED-x6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs (front facing)

or the WLED-x5 LED Wedge Base Bulbs (multi-directional)

I love mine

I go the Recon clear cab lights and the LED 3rd brake light, I used a little silicon on the cab lights and so far have no water getting inside. I did use the milti-directional led's from superbrightleds for the cab lights, and yes the light is weak from the back and sides, but looks very nice from the front.
