I have read most if not all of the threads on this site about the Recon lights. It seems that NONE are real happy, like the looks, BUT they leak, break, etc. I did notice mention that the lights had been redesigned, so are there any real improvements? Anybody have positive things to say on lights installed in the past 12 months? Is the redesign moving the screws front and rear instead of on the sides, OR is there more to it? I WILL NOT drill new holes just to get the front and rear screw arrangement, side by side screws on the stockers have been working good for 7 years!

My 2001 came with the factory lights, BUT I was thinking of going to a clear lens with amber LED's. Recon seems to be the only source? Not too thrilled about butchering the factory wiring, why they couldn't have made these plug an play is a bit of a mystery??????

Anyway, ALL of my bed lights are now clear LED and I have LED turn signals in the Depo quad headlight replacement, so am thinking of the cab lights too, just for aesthetics, what I have works fine, LOL.

I'm on my 2nd set in 2 years 1st leaked and cracked, new style LED bulbs look fine no leaks or cracks if you buy them don't over tighten the screws. They will crack for sure. Good Luck
