Truck in sig: can you folks help me figure out which parts I need to make it work with a NV4500? Swapping out E4OD when I return from my deployment along with many other mods! :D

You are missing a bunch of detail so ASSUMING: it works now:

It should work when you have the NV4500 in and working properly

You must have all Ford CC setup and parts right now, except for the attachment to the P7100 throttle linkage. Setting up with a NV4500 will probably mean you need to get the Ford parts that go with their manual transmission vehicles.

Of course, you'll have to put a switch on the clutch pedal to disconnect the cruise when you step on the clutch pedal.

If you can't figure it out, you can always install a Dana aftermarket cruise kit, I've used them in the past on vehicles that didn't have cruise and they work just fine.

Now - the big question: WHY did you ever leave Anchorage? I've spent a month or so there for each of the last 14 years and keep asking myself why I don't make it permanent!

I didn't mention clutch switch - I figured that was a given - but then I probably should have.

Since his sig states 4x4 and he didn't mention swapping transfer case, nothing should change since the speed is taken either off the transfer case or the rear diff - depending on the year.

I haven't tried the Dana kit - last one I tried was crap and it was years ago.

I'm sorry, brain fart.

Cruise is not connected. All the original parts are still there from the PSD but not connected. Not sure which parts I would need for it going from auto to manual transmission. The CC wasn't working when I bought the truck, it was pretty beat up.

@Charlessmith: I was stationed there and I couldn't extend otherwise I would have stayed! :)

@Dan_69GTX: I'm a woman. ;)

Thanks guys!

Sorry 'bout that! Didn't pay attention to your name, just your "handle".

If it doesn't work now your best bet is to get an aftermarket cruise control and go from there.

If you really want to keep it stock, you will have to get a OEM manual for the Ford, and determine what wiring is needed for it, figure out what's broke (since it didn't work before) and go from there.

On E-Greed there are kits for cruise for Fords that don't have them. I'm not going to say "all" but every '97 I've worked on has been wired for cruise even when it's not factory installed. So the kits are a way of getting the rest of the needed pieces. Now, I've not worked on a 95 for a long time what I don't remember, but feel it does, is ... does it link to the OEM PCM - I believe it does - meaning you need an aftermarket unit or ... you need to do a lot of "customizing" to get it to work.

Hope that helps.

Dan
