Red lamps on front doors

Maybe a stupid question: on my Laramie, I have red lamps or reflectors on the inside bottom of the front doors. Are these supposed to light up? Or are they just reflectors? If they are reflectors, what are they for?



Mine don't light up right now and I haven't been able to figure out how to illuminate them. I haven't looked real close at them to see if they are just reflectors.



It would seem that they should light up when I open the doors.

It is there so when i drive by you I dont rip your door off as you open it. Lets people see your door at night.

Wev'e all got them but, no they dont lite up like the cars from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and oh ya - PRETTY MUCH EVERY OTHER VEHICLE EVER BUILT!!!
