What weight of redline mtl should I use in the nv4500

To answer my own question mtl is only available in one weight well multi vis.

No you do not want to run Redline MTL in your 5 speed, it is way too light! It's a good choice for the NV5600 6-speed, but for your NV4500 it needs a 75W90 weight. But not any ol' 75W90...

These are the ONLY lubricants recommended for the NV4500:

75W-90 Castrol Syntorque Synthetic (number one pick)
Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant (PN 4637579)
GM Transmission oil (PN 12346191)
NOTE: Syntorque is NOT the same as Castrol Syntech

I went back in with castrol syntorq from dodge . I ran some shell for awhile because j wanted to flush all the old oil out but it didn't shift as nice as when I first got the truck so I went back to OEM oil

I've had many of these trans apart and never seen a brass synchro I can't think of anything in them that would be considered soft metal

I was just stirring the pot with the question. Is Standard Trans still using Castrolsyn torque? There was indication they switched to Amsoil. Is this bad info?

Idk but I do know different trans seem to work better with different oil

The syncros are brass covered by a carbon fiber composite material. When you use an oil not specifically intended for those kind of syncros, it causes the composite material to separate from the soft metal underneath. I dont care what any other brand oil claims, I wont use anything other than the OEM fluid.

I'm a believer in the OEM fluid my other 98 shifted better with shell not this one
