Going to be driving to alaska from california want to go over my break system

wondering which I should use? Slotted rotors, metalic pads, kevlar pads, rear disk. If I'm going to do it, I want to do it right and the best possible breaking system. I have a 98 2500 ctd

JVega, if you want to avoid spending a lot of $$ go with Power Slot rotors from Buybrakes.com: http://www.buybrakes.com/powerslot/power-slot-rotors.html

I did that on my '96 and was pleased with them. I then installed Performance Friction pads which I bought locally from an auto parts store. So just call around and see what places care Performance Friction brand and get the ones for your truck. This combo works great and way less brake dust than the previous pads that were on it.

Another thing I did was get the kevlar SS braided brake lines from EGR
